Today, much of “the how” of scientific discovery must remain hidden. But here is something we share with great pride.
It has been known for some time that in about 10% of all transplant surgeries either bacterial or virus infections ensue. This is because there is no blood flow into the device. Therefore, the body has no ability to deliver antibodies into the device. As a preventive to these complications, the devices are first immersed in a solution containing polypeptide protein molecules. The proteins adhere to the exterior of the devices and when attacked by most bacteria and virus the protein mechanically destroys the membrane wall of these infectious agents. The removal of the membrane wall kills the infectious agent. Naturally, the proteins that encase the implant devices must be nontoxic which they are.
1st Place ScienceTM has further advanced this science so that polypeptide protein molecules mechanically destroy the more complex cell walls of the waxy outer layer of insects. Without the waxy outer layer, the insect’s inner fluids evaporate. The evaporation of the inner fluids kills the insects by dehydration and without toxic chemicals. This can happen in as little as thirty seconds.
Because people, their pets and other mammals do not have waxy outer layers, they remain unharmed and the process is odor and stain free. No “forever chemicals,” no poisons and no neurotoxins.
The primary active ingredient is a complex proprietary protein molecule, ResidulinTM. Its elements are categorized as “food” by the FDA as they come from soybean oil. These protein molecules together with the other ingredients are under other protocols labeled by EPA as GRAS ingredients. (Generally Regarded As Safe).
The protein is derived and synthesized from soybean oil, a FIFRA 25(b) ingredient found in “Appendix A” of EPA Pesticide Registration (PR) Notice 2000-6.
Some formulas also provide a residual that is an encapsulation of the active protein. Because it is a residual element, it remains after application for continued protection. It also kills nymphs that emerge from well hidden insect eggs. Or the residual component provides a powerful and effective preventive that kills insects when they are first introduced, stopping infestation before it starts.
